When we walk in the Love that Jesus has called us to, when we are carried through our own battles, we begin to see that we aren’t called to put on the armor of God merely to defend ourselves.
Rather, we put on the armor of God to take an offensive stance and be proactive. As a means to stand alongside our brothers and sisters, to carry one another through.
I love this last section of Paul’s letter to the Ephesian Church… This is his call to action! And as we have been walking through the book the last several weeks, it all culminates with this. Jesus is calling up his people to be united with him and be infused with his power and strength! He is calling us all to step up and COME ALIVE! It is only when we are committed and walk in unity with Him that we are set apart from the world as he has called us to.
Ephesians 6:10 Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.
Main point:
The victory is already ours
We have the roadmap. We have the instruction manual. We’ve been told what we need to do. So often we stop short. So often we let fear hold us back, we let our own defenses hold us back, we let our own shortcomings hold us back. Paul is telling us it’s time. It’s time to say yes and to come alive. It’s time to take that step of faith and start walking in your calling… It’s time to set ourselves apart from the world. And it’s time to take up the fight for those who need an ally.
